Egg Drop
While dear Mrs. Getsova was still with us, we undertook an egg drop project. The goal of the project was to practice teamwork, though for many, the project turned into a competition of who could create the nicest looking projectile which would protect the group's egg from a fifteen foot drop. My group's design evolved from a cushioning structure, to a flat raft (the idea behind this was that the surface area would soften the impact... NOT), and eventually to a flat raft which had cushioning on the bottom with a light, effective parachute on the top. This turned out to be an extremely effective design as the egg survived multiple fifteen foot drops with nothing more than a few microfractures which were barely visible.
